There’s no doubt foldables are here to stay, and we can only expect more and more improvements as time goes on.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip4 is one of the latest foldables to hit the market this year – iterating on its predecessor, the Z Flip3. The reason for iterations is to improve on known issues based on customer feedback. For the most part, Samsung seems to have listened.
Pre-order your very own Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 on Amazon Singapore, and you’ll get a S$250 Samsung voucher along with it. Before we get there, let’s take a look at what makes the phone a worthwhile improvement, and perhaps your first foray into foldables.
The upgrades are small, but significant.

Firstly, the Z Flip4 shouldn’t be viewed as a new design. It is an evolution, so you’ll find many improvements.
A noticeable improvement is the battery life. Before it, the Z Flip3 required one or two charging breaks throughout the day. With its 3,700mAh battery, the Z Flip4 gets a few more hours of use compared to its predecessor’s 3,300mAh.
Powering everything through is the all-new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This ensures that the phone uses its battery efficiently, making the most of its power. Comparatively to the Flip3, you should be able to get three more hours out of this device.
The charging experience has also improved, with a wattage increase to 25W, compared to 15W previously. Wireless (slow) charging is also supported by the Z Flip4 at up to 10W, if you prefer it that way.
Another eye-catching feature of the Z Flip4, the cover display, has also been enhanced. Finally, you can reply to text messages, make use of new widgets, and display a bunch of things like GIFs, images, and videos.
As with its predecessor, the Flip4 comes with 8GB of RAM. In addition to the usual 128GB and 256GB options, the Z Flip4 offers 512GB, which helps offset the lack of MicroSD card support. But we should all be using cloud storage anyway, shouldn’t we?
While the 10-megapixel selfie camera is decent, the real star of the show is the dual 12 megapixel cameras on the outside – both the main and ultra-wide. Specifically, the main camera benefits a lot from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip’s smarter image processing.
With a starting price of S$1,398 for the 128GB variant, S$1,498 for the 256GB variant, and S$1,748 for the 512GB variant, you might be wondering why you should spend so much money on a phone. It might be worthwhile to include an additional S$250 Samsung voucher through Amazon or RM450 e-vouchers via their official website.
