Apple has confirmed that its next big event will take place on 7 September 2022. Among the devices expected to be announced at the event are the new iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8.
Live streaming will be available on the Apple website, on Apple TV, and on Youtube, as with previous events. The event begins at 10am Pacific Time (1pm Eastern Time, 6pm UK).
The iPhone 14 lineup is expected to include four models, including a new iPhone 14 Max that could replace the iPhone mini. Also expected at the big show will be the Apple Watch Series 8, an updated Watch SE, and the brand new Pro model for outdoor enthusiasts. AirPods Pro are overdue for an update, and the timing couldn’t be better for the holidays. In regards to the AR/VR headset that’s been rumored forever, hopefully there will be a preview.
Additionally, iOS 16, iPadOS 16, Watch OS 9 and MacOS Ventura will be released at the event. They have been in beta since WWDC in June and offer a range of new features to existing models and are expected to offer even more with the new releases. The two largest changes are the iPhone’s new lock screen hints at an always-on display, while the M1 iPad’s Stage Manager function provides a more Mac-like experience.
Apple’s events are traditionally preceded by a phrase that hints at upcoming features. The name of last year’s event was California Streaming, while the title of this year’s event is Far Out. Rumors are sure to circulate about what this could mean. The iPhone 14 may include a longer or wider camera zoom, or perhaps it will have an Astro feature with the stars in the picture.
The company is also expected to announce a new version of the AirPods Pro earbuds, a new standard iPad, and even the replacement for the Mac Pro.
