With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, gamers can expect improved ray tracing, faster rendering for enhanced graphics, and faster CPU performance. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 marks the beginning of a new era for Qualcomm’s processing technology.
On the sidelines of Samsung’s launch event yesterday, the firm announced an official partnership with the Snapdragon Pro Series, an e-sports tournament series hosted by the company.
In their announcement tweet, Snapdragon said, “ICYMI, [Samsung] is now the official presenting partner of the Snapdragon Pro Series. There’s no better combo than Snapdragon Elite Gaming and Samsung flagship smartphones, and we are so excited for you to experience it.”
Samsung retweeted it, saying, “Prepare to play on a whole new level.”
Online speculation has already started to fly, as well. There is a respected leaker, Ice Universe, who has shared a Geekbench score of a European Samsung Galaxy S23 showing it is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
There has been a lot of talk around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, and now the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has appeared on board what appears to be a Samsung Galaxy S23 handset. The phone in question is a Global/European variant of the S23 series, carrying the model number SM-S918B. As an example, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is available in the European Union, is designated as SM-S908B.
It’s a major achievement, since the Exynos chipset used on the EU market was plagued by some problems. Additionally, not only is this getting the new chipset, but Ice also mentions that this is a high-frequency version that will only be available from Samsung, which means that this is an exclusive chip.
