Here’s some good news for owners of Google Nest Cameras and Google Nest video doorbells. You will soon be able to view your Nest camera and doorbell feeds live on the web as soon as the home.google.com website gets upgraded.
The feature will roll out in batches. According to Google, if you can’t see it right away “continue to check back and let us know if you still don’t have access next week.”
Google Home is designed for desktop and laptop use. Although Google recommends Chrome as the primary platform, we note that most browsers, in the latest version, work equally well.
To use Google web, simply log in to Google Home web with your Google Account (the same one as your Google Home app). You should now be able to see live streams from your cameras with the option to switch between single to multi-camera views – if you own multiple cameras.

Inactive battery-powered cameras can be woken up, switched on and off remotely, and the camera status can be viewed right in the browser.
Here are the lists of the Nest cameras and doorbells that are compatible with the web-based app:
- Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Cam (wired)
- Nest Cam with floodlight (wired)
- Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen), Nest Doorbell (battery) and Nest Doorbell (wired)
- Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor
- Nest Cam IQ Indoor and Nest Cam IQ Outdoor
Yet recorded video appears to be missing from the integration. To view a recorded event, you will still need to use the Google Home app for the new cameras and a separate Nest app for the old cameras. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.
