Software updates were made on Google Blog, that ChromeOS 105 was rolled out “for most ChromeOS devices rolled out over the next few days”.
There are a couple of cool new features that we’re excited for about in this new ChromeOS release, as reported by About Chromebooks.
Foremost, the first new feature is Adaptive Charging. The ChromeOS 105 battery optimization update aims to prolong the battery life of all Chromebooks by tweaking how and when the battery is charged.
The one-click Virtual Desk close is the second new feature. The whole user experience is now streamlined, that was not possible before.
Additionally, ChromeOS 105 features a new gaming interface overlay for Android games. The details of this new feature are posted up on the official ChromeOS blog, and this makes it easier to play games that were largely designed for touchscreen mobile devices.
I highly appreciate this new feature, as well as the security improvements that ChromeOS 105 offers. However, in my opinion, the new Adaptive Charging feature is what excites me the most.
Also, aside from having fantastic battery life stats, Chromebooks are lightweight, go-all-day portable computers that are ideal for traveling.
To put it in a simple manner, battery deterioration does occur on Chromebooks just like on any other piece of hardware, so the new Adaptive Charging feature can slow down that degradation. This means Chromebook owners will get better and longer battery life performance from their system.
It’s nice to see the way ChromeOS 105 turned out, and I’m looking forward to ChromeOS 106 arriving on September 29.
