Not a surprise to expect a new lineup of foldables from Samsung every year, since the company currently controls 62 percent of the foldable smartphone market.
With one of its latest offerings – the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 – that percentage could increase to 80 percent by the second half of 2022.
The Samsung E-Store vouchers accompanying pre-orders of the foldable device on Amazon Singapore could make that 80-percent figure materialize sooner than expected. How does the Z Fold4 differ from its predecessor, and what makes it a worthy upgrade?
In Samsung’s latest lineup of foldables, the Fold features Qualcomm’s all-new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which promises improved efficiency and power. In addition, the new SoC is the most powerful and potent chip available for Android devices today.
It’s no secret that the Fold4’s predecessor – the Fold3 – consumed a lot of power. The main screen measures 7.3 inches, which isn’t surprising since it’s the size of a mini-tablet. This year’s Fold4 has a 7.6-inch main display, so it will benefit from the new processor’s efficiency boost. Particularly relevant when you consider that the battery size is the same at 4,400 mAh.
You can charge your Fold4 with a 25W charger, which it also keeps from the Fold3. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are also supported by the device.
The main cluster of cameras on the rear consists of three lenses: A 50-megapixel wide lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens. The selfie camera on the outer display is a 10-megapixel one, while the selfie camera beneath the main display is 4 megapixels.
According to the reviewers, Ultra’s ultra-wide camera has the same (or even better) camera quality than the Samsung S22 Ultra’s Ultra camera.
The phone’s 120Hz refresh rate will definitely make scrolling and swiping a smooth experience. With that and the new chip’s processing power, you’re on your way to success.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold4 starts at S$2,398 for the 256GB model and increases to S$2,578 for the 512GB model. Regardless of the storage option you choose, all models come with 12GB of RAM.To sweeten the deal even more, Amazon Singapore is also offering a S$300 Samsung E-Store voucher with pre-orders or RM650 of E-Voucher through their official website.
