Harry Potter fans have been blessed with some of the finest collaborations possible from the award-winning Harry Potter Lego sets to Hogwards Legacy Playstation Games, and Nintendo Switch X Harry Potter crossover. The Fossil watch collection is inspired by the adventures of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hogwarts, and the wider wizarding world, leading Fossil’s watches to undergo a series of striking makeovers.
In celebration of the iconic brand, Fossil has launched a range of necklaces and watches that showcase the Harry Potter series. It follows the recent trend of tying a fictional character to a limited edition timepiece, such as the TAG Heuer x Mario Kart recently launched in Oct 2022.
A total of five watches are offered in this collection—four quartz models representing each of the four Hogwarts houses, and one automatic model.
HARRY POTTER X FOSSIL AUTOMATIC WATCH
The Harry Potter x Fossil automatic watch features a striking four-colour split dial, with each color representing one of the Hogwarts houses in the Harry Potter world. A giant “H” logo was also featured on the dial, behind a simple three-hand setup. An iconic lightning bolt design graces the seconds hand, while the date window sits at the 3 o’clock position.
Case size wise, the watch measures 43 mm, which is a bit larger than most watches at the moment. Despite its gold-tone appearance, it is a stainless steel watch.
It also features a 22 mm bracelet in the same gold-coloured stainless steel. Neither the strap nor the buckle appear to taper. A sapphire crystal encases both the exhibition-like caseback and watch front. Behind a stamped Hogwarts logo, it reveals a 21-jewel movement.
The Harry Potter x Fossil Automatic is limited to only 3,000 pieces worldwide. It retails for $500 / £459 / AU$919.
HARRY POTTER X FOSSIL NYLON WATCH
The Harry Potter x Fossil Nylon watch collection has you covered, if automatic watches aren’t your thing, or you simply can’t spread your love for more than one house. These quartz watches have a slightly slimmer design, with a 40 mm case and leather-backed nylon strap.
There are four different watches representing the four houses in the series. The dial features the emblematic animal of the house in the middle, with a simple, three-hand setup and some diagonal design work behind.
Made of stainless steel, each case and crown is distinctively colored to complement the rest of the house design, while the case back features the crest of the house.
Available quantities are different for each house. Gryffindor is limited to 7,348 units, Slytherin to 6,907, Hufflepuff to 4,849, and Ravenclaw to 4,837. Each will be available at retail from £189 / $200 / AU$349.
Launched online globally on October 27, the full collection, which also includes a series of gold necklaces and earrings, further complements everything that the world’s wizards, witches, and Muggles need to live a truly magical life.
