The statement quartz sports watches are fun and capture the spirit of the first Formula 1 watches of the 1980s. These watches were made of plastic and stood out with bold colors and character.
In conjunction with the newly launched colors, TAG Heuer has said, ‘Green, yellow and red have been signature motorsport colors for decades. They continue the legacy of the race car livery colors established in the Interwar era and which indicated the nation of origin of the car, its driver, or its team: British Racing Green, Or for yellow and gold, Rosso Corsa Italian red, and more.’
‘These traditional colors officially ruled the track until the 1970s, but they are still omnipresent today – flags, lights, track markings, team liveries… they make up the enduring palette of this thrilling sport.’
A black PVD crown and broad pushers contribute further to visual appeal. Formula 1’s most distinctive feature would be the TAG Heuer’s gear-toothed fixed bezel. Meanwhile, the new insert adds a heightened tachymeter scale to a sporting bold typeface. Compared to other quartz Formula 1 models, these new models have brushed numerals that add depth and solidity to a straightforward design. It is also water-resistant up to 200 meters.
White Super-LumiNova® is coated on the hands and indexes for excellent legibility at high speeds and an angled date window at 4 o’clock. Straps are made of rubber and come in vivid hues that seamlessly match the dials.
Each colored watch features slightly different details. On the green edition, the hands and indexes are black with white Super-LumiNova. While on the red edition, the hands and indexes are rhodium-plated. Yellow edition features black indexes with white Super-LumiNova®, black hours and minutes hands, and a red central hand.
