Samsung and Philips Hue have teamed up to deliver the all-new Music Sync feature to Samsung Galaxy phones. By integrating Music Sync into Samsung SmartThings, Samsung Galaxy phone users can sync any Philips Hue smart lighting they have in their smart home to any music played from any source.
Before, the service was only available through certain apps, such as Spotify, and required existing playlist metadata.
With the new SmartThings with Music Sync integration, that is no longer the case. The smart lights can now sync with music from any source.

Samsung Galaxy phone owners can now use any music streaming app or even play music locally on their handsets to create a multicolored smart lighting disco in their homes. The phones actively scan the music pitch and volume to create suitable lighting effects.
Having a Philips Hue smart lighting system in every room, along with many color-changing smart bulbs in your living room, makes hosting house parties easy. Ease of use is what appeals to us the most. Instead of having to figure out how to use the app or deal with incompatibility issues, you can just play music and trip the light right away.
A SmartThings software update is coming in Q4, 2022, according to Samsung and Hue.
