Lenovo Glasses T1 Lets You Enjoy a Private, Large Screen Experience Anytime

The Lenovo Glasses T1 projects on a fully-private virtual screen, allowing users to stream contents, play games and even work on a personal monitor that only the wearer can see.

At a glance, the Glasses T1 may look like a typical pair of black sunglasses. But within is a hidden micro OLED display boasting 1920 X 1080-pixel per eye resolution. It can also manage a smooth, 60Hz frame rate and features a 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Featuring a high definition micro OLED display and 1080p per eye resolution at 60Hz, Lenovo’s smart glasses are at the forefront of smart eyewear technology.

The display has TUV certification for low blue-light emissions and flicker-free experience. Like many smart glasses on the market, it also comes with high-fidelity built-in speakers on the temples, as well as with volume controls that I think will come in handy when out in public.

The next-generation Glasses T1 eliminates augmented-reality aspirations, along with the associated cameras, sensors, and other hardware, simplifying the wearable concept down to a single private display, visible only to the wearer. The company positions the glasses as suitable for both hybrid work and privacy, or entertainment.

Lenovo claims the glasses provide a “private workspace to prevent shoulder surfing,” which limits what the wearer is able to see to himself.

The Glasses T1 is compatible with every device that has a USB-C port, including Windows, Android, and macOS devices. However, iPhones aren’t left out either, as Lenovo offers an optional HDMI to Glasses Adapter which works with Apple’s aging Lightning connection. The wearable is said to deliver “high optical efficiency and low overall power consumption”.

Additionally, the Glasses T1 features adjustable temple arms, support for custom prescription lenses via in-box attachable frames, and interchangeable nose clips. A USB-C cable is visible on the glasses’ left temple for charging.

Also known as the Lenovo Yoga Glasses in China, the Lenovo Glasses T1 are set to be on sale in China in late 2022. Lenovo has yet to reveal what regions can expect them first, although it is said that it will be available in other select markets in 2023. Lenovo is targeting the smart glasses price to be under $500. The official price will be announced closer to the launch date.
